Fiscal Policies

I.  FISCAL YEAR
The fiscal year for the Foundation shall be January 1 through December 31, effective January 1, 2010.

II.  FUND CATEGORIES
A.  Funds received by the Buckner Homestead Heritage Foundation will be categorized within the following bookkeeping accounts:
•     General Fund – funds received, including membership fees, with no specific use designation
•     Adopt-A-Tree – funds received specifically as a part of the Adopt-A-Tree program
•     Packing Shed Reconstruction – funds received specifically for the purpose of reconstruction of the Buckner Packing Shed and related uses.
•     Special Projects – funds received by the Foundation for a specific purpose, other than those listed above.

B.  All funds, other than the General Fund, shall be considered dedicated accounts and transfer between accounts shall only occur by a majority vote of the Foundation Board.

III.  MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM

A.  A Buckner Homestead Heritage Foundation Membership program is established, effective January 1, 2010.

B.  Membership categories
Individual – $25.00     Steward – $500.00
Family – $50.00     Sustainer – $1,000.00
Patron – $100.00     Donation – $ _________
Benefactor – $250.00

IV.  DISPERSION OF FUNDS UPON DISSOLUTIONOF THE FOUNDATION

The Foundation may dissolve, on 60 days’ written or electronic notice to the membership, with transfer of any and all remaining funds to another acceptable nonprofit organization or agency that is tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3), is not classified as a private foundation under Section 509(a) (a Successor), and/or is compatible with the mission and goals of the Foundation as stated herein.

The successor or agency must have charitable purposes or charges compatible with the purposes of the foundation and the financial and administrative capacity to competently manage funds as collected and intended under these Article of Association for the exclusive support of the Buckner Homestead, Stehekin, Washington.

V.  PAYMENT OF EXPENSES

A.  Vouchers
Payment of Foundation Expenses shall be by approved voucher with attached receipts.

B.  Voucher Approval
1. Vouchers may be approved the duly-elected treasurer or president.
2. Vouchers of $500.00 or more must be approved by both the treasurer and president.
3. Vouchers submitted by the treasurer or president can only be approved by the other officer.
